Marumi Kujirai’s much loved milk pitchers are back in stock.
Each individually mounted on its own saucer, the pieces are made by hand at Kujirai’s home studio in Kasama, not far from Tokyo.
The arched spout is a piece of the potter’s imagination, and each pitcher is finished in her signature blue glaze.
As all of the pieces are made by hand, there are slight variations between them.

Marumi Kujirai is among the new generation of ceramicists who have chosen to base themselves in Kasama, not far north of Tokyo.
From the studio that adjourns her home, she works on distinctly Japanese forms that draw on many inspirations.
Her work is full of refined detail, and is characterised by the pleasing texture of its glazes.
