These distinctive small ‘rinka’ plates are by Gifu-based ceramicist Motoharu Ozawa.
In Japan, Ozawa’s work is known and loved for combinations it makes with food.
These pieces are fired with the potter’s ‘kingfisher’ blue glaze shade and a soft yellow shade referred to in Japanese as tanko.
The kodai base of the pieces shows the reddish clay mix that Ozawa has perfected in his work.
The diameter of the each plate is 9cm, they weigh 7g.
Motoharu Ozawa’s ceramics have a strong fan base in Japan, and this is a rare chance to connect with his work in Europe. More information can be found about him .
