Based on tips of the year’s newest tea crop, ‘gensen’ (strict selection) is one of Kirishima based Sueshige Tea’s finest green teas.

With its rich and complex aroma, Sueshige recommend placing the leaves on a small plate to sniff, before brewing the tea.

Kirishima sits at the foot of the Takachiho no Mine volcano range. Here the altitude leads to a colder climate, and a distinctive Kagoshiman terroir for tea. When brewed, Kirishima teas often offer a quite thin green colour, that deceives to the level of taste. The brews are in fact fresh, sophisticated and satisfying.
