About
Mamoru Teramoto is a leading figure in Kasama ceramics. One of the currently practicing master potters, his work in its variation, originality and quality expresses much of the modern Kasama identity in ceramics. Teramoto built his kiln in the mid-1970s drawn initially to the town by its lack of a prescriptive style in ceramics, that matched his own freedom in imagination. Working in porcelain and clay, from climbing kiln fired tea ware to pure works of pattern - Teramoto retains a dedication to making something new. As he ages he grows more ambitious in this goal.
