This three cup set is by the ceramicist Motoharu Ozawa.
He has completed the work in the kohiki style, one that creates texture through the application of slip and translucent glaze.
The pieces fit into one another, and Ozawa has worked with a wood craftsperson to create a lid bespoke to each set.
The texture work and variation hint to some of the elements that have made Ozawa’s work so sought after in Japan. The clay mix that the ceramicist works with is visible on the base, kodai (foot) element.
What makes pottery by Ozawa loved, is the opportunity to combine it with food, with these pieces no exception.
The dimensions of each piece are diameter 8.5cm, with each cup around 4.5cm high (13.5cm together as a set). The overall weight is 515g.
