These cups are from Mishio Suzuki's 'lux' series of works in misty blue glaze. The works are a combination of skilfully achieved colour, and texture through a hand engraved trellis pattern. As each piece is handmade, there are slight differences between them.
The cups have a diameter of around 9.5cm, and a height of 9cm. They weigh approximately 250g.
About Mishio Suzuki
Mishio Suzuki is a potter based near Kasama, a town known for its ceramic history north of Tokyo. She was inspired initially by German and European product design. But by travelling in Europe, Suzuki came to appreciate more the pottery tradition in her own region of Kasama. Carrying with her the diverse range of influences she acquired, Suzuki trained with the Kasama master potter Akio Nukaga, before establishing her own kiln in 2006. Her pieces balance a sense of nature, with a modern elegance.
