This candle snuffer pairs well with Ōmori Warōsoku candles or in fact any candle of a small or medium size.
Ōmori Warōsoku are based in Uchiko in Ehime, among the traditional line of small shops in the town that evoke a previous era. Uchiko has long been known as a home for candles made the from the wax of the haze tree (hazenoki).
The candles of the Ōmori family business use this wax, and build their wicks around a core of washi (Japanese paper), wrapped with rush marrow.
The weight of the candles is measure by 'momme' an old-school measurement that equates to around 3.75 grammes. Ōmori Warōsoku say that this snuffer, which is made from brass, will work for candles to a weight of around 20 momme.
