About Miki Oka
Miki Oka is an Oita based ceramicist, who has practiced previously in Kyoto, Australia and North America. Rooted in diverse traditions, her work expresses personal moments of inspiration. Pieces of remembered travel, or interactions in daily life and nature. Situated in Kunisaki, on the north eastern corner of Kyushu, Oka forms a studio with her partner Toyokazu Ono, a stencil dye artist. Together they create a world of colour, and explore directions in Japanese craft.
