These bamboo owl whistles were made for Oita based Chikuen.
Communicate with owls. Or perhaps rather communicate using an owl. These owl whistles made in Japan with locally sourced bamboo make a sound rather similar to the nocturnal birds.
It is just as possible to imitate the ‘to-whit-to-woo’ of a British Tawny, or the ‘ho-ho’ of a Japanese Scops, with the pleasing bamboo reverb.
Each whistle is about 8cm in length, and 3.5cm in depth. They weigh around 17g.
About Chikuen
